A plug valve is a type of valve used to regulate the flow of fluid through a cylindrical or conically tapered plug that contains one or more passages or ports. The valve consists of this plug fitted inside the valve body, and by rotating the plug, the flow of fluid through the pipeline can be opened, restricted, or completely shut off.
